Mr. Mario M. Mamang, former Provincial Board Member of Basilan appointed by former President Ferdinand E. Marcos (FEM), was grateful to meet Governor Imee R. Marcos at Sumagdang, Isabela City, Basilan, last June 27, 2018.

“I am happy and grateful because I’m a loyalist of the Marcoses” said Mamang as he presented a well-kept photo of himself together with the FEM.

“That was taken at the Malacañang Palace, when we made a courtesy call to Commissioner Datu Mama Sinsuat of the Commission on National Integration (CNI) when I was the spokesman of the CNI Scholar Association of the Philippines. I was a student back then,” he recalled.

Mamang was working for the Presidential Task Force in Manila before FEM appointed him as one of the six provincial board members of Basilan.

“ hen Basilan was transformed from a mere city to a province, FEM appointed nine provincial officials three of which were vice governors. The rest were provincial board members,” he stated.

Mamang today is the last surviving among the nine FEM appointees.

“I’m very grateful and I really kept this picture as a souvenir from the Marcos family,” he said.

Mamang joined the 34th KASAMBUHAN Founding Anniversary where he met his former chief’s daughter, Governor Marcos. The latter graced the occasion as guest of honor.
