Imee: The Investigation is Not Yet Over

By 0 Comment

Senator Imee R. Marcos praised the Ombudsman’s swift action after she submitted the Chairperson’s Report on May 2 to its office.

The Ombudsman gave Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, PNP NCRPO Chief General Nicolas Torre III, PNP Chief General Rommel Francisco Marbil, DILG Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla, and Special Envoy on Transnational Crime Markus Lacanilao ten days to file their explanations or counter-affidavits.

“The arrest of FPRRD is part of the government’s massive effort to overthrow the Dutertes before 2028,” Senator Imee strongly stated.

According to the report of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations that he chairs, there are three main findings: there is a political motive behind the arrest and surrender of FPRRD to the ICC; there is an attempt to cover up the details and motives of the operation; and there is possible criminal and administrative liability for some high-ranking officials.

The senator has not yet closed the investigation due to ongoing questions, including who ordered the arrest and transfer to The Hague, and how the plane used in this operation was obtained.

“Our investigation does not end here — and we will not surrender our sovereignty,” the senator stated.

The senator maintained that she will continue to promote the truth and hold accountable anyone who violates the law in the name of politics.
